Nancy Mugele is the Director of Communication and External Programs at Roland Park Country School, an independent K-12 college preparatory school for girls in Baltimore, where she oversees publications, media relations, website content management, lifelong learning opportunities in the Kaleidoscope adult education program, summer programs and the RPCS Archives. Nancy is also an adjunct professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Professional Studies in Business and Education, Graduate Division of Education teaching in a Certificate Program in Educational Leadership for Independent Schools jointly developed by Hopkins and the Association of Independent Maryland Schools. The course is titled Public Relations, Marketing and Fundraising for Independent Schools. Nancy has spoken extensively to students, teachers and parents on the issue of media influence and the development of girls' sense of self.
Prior to working in the education field, Nancy spent ten years working in advertising and marketing on National Geographic Magazine, Domino Sugar, Johnson & Johnson baby products and Noxell skincare and cosmetics products. She worked at a New York agency then later moved to Baltimore to work on the brand side developing seasonal shades of Lipsticks and Nail Polishes.
Nancy is currently working on her first book about the media’s influence on young girls. She is a published poet and avid reader. Nancy resides in Baltimore with her husband Jim, daughters Jenna and Kelsy, and son James.
